Key Life values your relationship and we take very seriously our obligation to protect the privacy of your personal information. The basis of each customer relationship at Key Life is built on trust. You have chosen to do business with Key, and we guard that relationship with great care, beginning with the information you have chosen to share with us.

When you apply to Key Life Insurance Company for insurance or financial services, you entrust us with personal health and financial information. This information is necessary because we rely on you as the best and most important source of information about you and other persons listed on your application. We may also collect personal information about you from other sources.

Key Life Insurance Company is dedicated to protecting the privacy of your nonpublic personal information. We want you to understand what information we collect, and how we use and protect it. This notice serves as a standard for all our employees for collection, use, retention and security of nonpublic personal consumer information.

Throughout this brochure, when we state, "Key Life Insurance Company," we mean also our holding company, The Key Corporation and any of our affiliated companies.

What Information We Collect
"Nonpublic personal information" is information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service. Such information includes for example:

• Information about transactions with us and our affiliates, such as account balance, payment and claims history, type of product purchased and policy coverage;

• Information provided by employers, benefit plan sponsors, or associations, such as employee premium contribution amounts and employee or association eligibility;

• Information from other sources, such as motor vehicle reports, medical information, and information about your transactions with other insurance companies; and

• Information from a consumer reporting agency, such as credit worthiness, credit and payment history and credit relationships.

Our Security Standards
To maintain security of customer information, we restrict access to your personal and account information to persons who need to know that information to provide you products or services. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to guard information.

What Information We Disclose
Key Life Insurance Company does not disclose nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to any companies that are not members of our corporate family ("third parties"), except as permitted or required by law, specifically Title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999. The confidentiality of your nonpublic personal information will continue to be maintained consistent with this privacy policy even if you decide to cease doing business with us.

During the normal course of business, Key Life may share the personal information as described above with a company affiliated with Key Life. Also, Key Life may disclose information we collect, as described above, to third parties with which we have contracts to perform functions on our behalf. These include financial service providers such as, insurance companies, payment processing companies and nonfinancial service providers such as, mailing houses and data processing companies.

In addition, we may share the information listed above with financial institutions with which we jointly offer, endorse, or sponsor a financial product or service.

All of these third parties, which act with us or on our behalf, are contractually obligated to keep the information that we provide to them confidential and to use the information only to provide the services we have asked them to perform for you and us. Because we already limit the sharing of your nonpublic personal information as outlined above, no action is necessary on your part to limit such sharing.

If a consumer report is requested, we will notify you promptly with the name and address of the consumer reporting agency that will furnish the report. Upon written request, you may request to be interviewed in connection with the investigation. The agency may retain a copy of the report and may disclose it to other persons to the extent permitted by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act.
